The Listuguj youth and family centre summer camp was held on July 31st at Moffat’s Landing. GMRC research technician Craig Isaac and members of the Listuguj Fisheries scientific research team used a seine net to collect samples of fish from the Restigouche river.

GMRC Director of Research Carole-Anne Gillis identified the ninespine stickelback, threespine stickelback, sand shrimp, smelt and atlantic silverside species collected using the seine net. “Atlantic silverside is a bio indicator fish that indicates good levels of dissolved oxygen in the water,” said Carole-anne.
