Calling Back the Salmon: Engaging The Youth in Salmon Enhancement Activities

Description

This project will engage a youth group made up of 12 students, from grade 7 and 8, from the Alaqsitew Gitpu School in Listuguj. The students will learn about the historical and current native and non-native salmon management practices. They will receive guided tours on the Restigouche river to learn about the ecological importance of the salmon and will gain insight on how to sustainably maintain its freshwater habitat and visually inspect salmon habitat conditions.
