Sixteen members from the Youth Centre in Listuguj took part in a day camp GMRC hosted today. Our staff member Craig Isaac used a seine net to sample a section of the river near the boom. On shore GMRC Director of Research Carole-Anne Gillis identified the species of fish collected from the seine net. She pointed out the ninespine stickelback, threespine stickelback, sand shrimp and flounder that were collected. After asking plenty of questions about the fish, and watching the species, they safely released them back into the Restigouche River. We would like to thank the Youth Centre for taking part in our camp. We will be holding a camp in Eel River Bar and Pabineau in July.
